Fount Of Tomarani Knowledge Aspiration Overview
As with most of the more recent Sims 4 expansion and game packs, The Sims 4: For Rent features something of a tutorial aspiration to help you get a feel for the new features of the pack.
This time, your goal overall is to experience the world of Tomarang for yourself. This tropical new world comes with the For Rent expansion and is inspired by Southeast Asia.
Throughout the Fount of Tomarani Knowledge aspiration, you'll be thoroughly exploring the new world and all it has to offer. Tomarang is culturally unique, and your Sim wants to know what that means firsthand.
The first milestone focuses on dipping your feet into all things Tomarani culture, requiring socializing with locals and getting to knew the tropical new land.
Second, your Sim will want to stuff themselves with Tomarani cuisine, featuring plenty of recipes and eateries common in real-world Southeast Asian countries.
Finally, your Sim wants to explore the world of Tomarang and see all there is to see - from the Tiger Sanctuary to the hidden hollows of Beard Beard Cave.
Helpful Traits
There are a few major themes to the Fount of Tomarani Knowledge aspiration - cooking, exploring, and socializing.
Overall, you'll do the best with traits that help your Sim to socialize a bit easier, such as Outgoing or, if you're doing this aspiration with an Elder Sim, the new Wise trait included with For Rent.
Traits like Loner or the Socially Awkward trait from High School Years make the Fount of Tomarani Knowledge aspiration more difficult for this reason.
The amount of physical work you'll need to do for this aspiration is negligible, so you don't need to be Active, but it does help with some of the exploration tasks in the final milestone.

Below, we've kept tabs on every task in each milestone of the Fount of Tomarani Knowledge aspiration in The Sims 4: For Rent.
Fount Of Tomarani Knowledge Aspiration Milestones And How To Complete Them

Notes |
---|---|---|
Regional Rookie |
Leave Fruit or Incense at a Spiritual House. |
In order to complete this task, you'll first need to place the Spirit House on your lot, which costs 250 Simoleons and can be found in the Outdoor Activities section of Build/Buy mode. Your Sim doesn't need to have fruit or incense in their pocket at the time, either - simply click the Spirit House and perform the offering. |
Use 3 Tomarani Introductions. |
Sims from Tomarang have their own regional introduction when meeting new Sims. Use the Tomarani Introduction social on three different Sims when meeting them for the first time. |
|
Meet one Sim with the Child of the Village Personality Trait. |
The Child of the Village trait was added in the For Rent expansion and sees Sims from the world of Tomarang enjoying spending their time in the world and socializing with locals. Meet one Sim who has this trait to complete this task. If you don't find someone out in the world, Nin Bun Ma in the Koh Sahpa neighborhood has this trait, so you could always just travel directly to the house to meet her if need be. |
|
Use a Squat Toilet 3 Times. |
New in the world of Tomarang are squat toilets, popular in real-life Southeast Asia. These can be found in households and public lots throughout Tomarang, so use a squat toilet three individual times to complete this task. It still counts even if your Sim's bladder need isn't low enough that it'd usually warrant a trip to the bathroom. |
|
Culinary Connoisseur |
Cook Tomarani Cuisine 3 Times. |
Tomarang introduces a variety of Southeast Asian meals, and your Sim needs to cook a meal of this variety three times. An easy way to do this is to either make note of the dishes your Sim is eating at the Night Markets, or simply buy a Pressure Cooker and make the meals available in it. This pairs well with the other task in this milestone to use a Pressure Cooker - kill two birds with one meal. |
Buy1 Shirt from the Night Market. |
When visiting the Night Market in the Morensong neighborhood of Tomarang, head to the vendor with the pink roof on the corner of the two streets that contain the Night Market stalls. They'll have a few local options for clothing, which you can purchase either to use later in CAS or to wear immediately upon purchase. You only need to buy one of the shirts for this task. |
|
Buy Food at the Night Market 1 Time. |
When visiting the Night Market, visit any of the food stalls and purchase any of the Southeast Asian-inspired food items, and have your Sim eat them. |
|
Prepare 2 Recipes Using a Pressure Cooker. |
A new countertop appliance added in The Sims 4: For Rent is the Pressure Cooker. Place one in your Sims kitchen and successfully use it to prepare two meals. They do not have to be different, but you do need to cook Pressure Cooker meals two individual times. |
|
Explorer Extraordinaire |
Collect 3 Unique Tassels. |
Tassels are hidden around Tomarang, and there are nine in total to collect. Your Sim needs to find three for the aspiration. The easiest way to do this is to purchase a Light Green and Pink tassel from the Night Market, and collect a XX one from the Tiger Sanctuary. |
Explore Tomarang's Cave. |
There's a hidden lot in the Koh Sahpa neighborhood of Tomarang, if you swim from the beach near the Bun Ma household toward the cave in the island to the left that you can see from the travel map of the Tomarang overworld. Head over to that "hidden" beach and explore Beard Beard Cave |
|
Explore the Sulea Tiger Sanctuary. |
If you travel to the Screaming Gecko Lounge in Koh Sahpa and head across the river behind the lounge toward the mossy shrine in the back, you'll find the Sulea Tiger Sanctuary, a hidden lot in Tomarang |
|
View the Statue of Khun Mae and the Tiger. |
Directly next to the Sulea Tiger Sanctuary is the statue of the Great Mother, Khun Mae, and a tiger. Click to View the statue, and you'll trigger a notification that contains information about Khun Mae. |
Once you've completed the final task in the Explorer Extraordinaire milestone and formally complete the Fount of Tomarani Knowledge aspiration, your Sim will be rewarded with the Tomarang Expert trait.
These Sims tend will prepare Tomarani cuisine at higher quality than normal for their cooking level, they'll get along better with Sims with the Child of the Village Trait, have better luck finding tassels, and they do better at exploring the Tiger Sanctuary and Beard Beard Cave.
