It's a scalding hot day in Oasis Springs, and your Sim is looking to take a dip in the pool, cool off by the bar, and spend endless days in their chaise. But they need the perfect place to do that, and there is no place better than their own backyard.

With The Sims 4's Desert Luxe kit, you can build your Sim the ideal backyard oasis to sunbathe, have pool parties, and grill up some dinner. With 27 new build and buy items, you can have everything you need to bring a piece of the desert to any world.

6 Curtains

If your Sim loves enjoying natural light flooding into their home but is looking for some privacy that floor-to-ceiling windows cannot provide, then this kit provides the perfect curtains. These luxuriously long curtains are made of a beautiful, sleek material that lets the light in but keeps the peeping Tom's out.

The modern, simple design of the curtains allows them to fit in nearly any style of room. They feature a wooden track-rod style that creates a more organic look, and there's even a separate rod item to create an open-curtain look in the room. From desert-inspired, warm-toned space to the monochrome industrial loft, they're the perfect curtain for any window.

5 Surfaces

Tables come in many different shapes and sizes, especially in this kit. There are three end tables and a console table included. The first of the end tables is a modern wooden design, with an interesting cutout near the bottom for you to place a small object. The other two are of similar concrete material, with one being square-shaped and the other being circular.

Lastly, the console table is in a Flintstonian, curved-rock style and contains two open-arched spaces for you to decorate with flowers or small clutter objects. The wooden end table matches the other wooden items (such as the chairs) and the concrete end tables and the console table match each other and the concrete walls that are included.

4 Lighting

If the burning desert sun isn't glaring enough to light up your Sim's room, then there are a few lightning options included in the kit to brighten things up. The first light to be discussed is a small, disc-shaped light that can be placed on the floor or on surfaces. For its size, it lights up the room pretty well.

There's also a new hanging wicker pendant light that comes in three sizes (compatible with all the wall heights) and various wood tones. Finally, there is also a ceiling fan which may not come with a light, but it'll keep your Sim cool as they bask in the glow of their wicker chandelier.

3 Seating

You can't lounge poolside without something to lounge on! Included in this kit is the necessary lounge chair, but it's not the only comfortable seating option for your Sim. There's a standard chair that comes with matching swatches, allowing you to create a cohesive color story from the pool to the patio.

There are also two couches included: a cushioned sofa with a pretty basic look, and one framed in concrete that matches the end tables - you can even use them to configure a faux sectional. And for hanging out at the bar, there's a barstool with a sunny pattern that's perfect for sipping on a Flaming Zesty Salt.

2 Build

This kit features some outstanding build mode items: one floor, one wall, an awning, two windows, and a door. The floor and the wall both feature an earthy, sand concrete-style texture and the same swatches. The awning is a slatted wood that matches the other wood tones in the kit and lets the sun filter through to create some beautiful shadows.

One of the windows matches the slatted wood style of the awning, and the other features both the same wooden textures and some smoother concrete options. And the door is one of the most spectacular features of the kit: a four-tile wide sliding glass door that will give your Sim the most dramatic entrance to every pool party. Just know that you can't close it for the winter.

1 Patio Must-Haves

No patio is complete without these three things: a bar, a grill, and a fireplace. Well, maybe most can do without the third one, but the fireplace included in the Desert Luxe kit will elevate any patio from plain to phenomenal. And, of course, it comes in the same sand concrete colors as many other items. The bar does as well, matching perfectly with the end tables to create some custom extensions.

The final piece offered in this kit is the grill, which features a mix of the concrete and wood textures seen throughout the kit to make it the perfect tie-in of every piece. Now all you need to do is put in a pool (with a way out, of course) for them to cool off, and you've got the perfect desert oasis for your Sims to enjoy.
