The asymmetrical horror genre persists thanks to the help of Dead by Daylight, with its matches pitting a sole Killer against a team of four Survivors. The game has dozens of characters you can choose to play, with even more customization options. Nancy Wheeler, from Netflix's Stranger Things, is just one of the Survivors you can pick.

Dead By Daylight: 5 Tips To Counter The Nurse

Even after many adjustments, The Nurse is one of the strongest killers in the game, and it can be quite hard to win a trial against her.

As for how Nancy Wheeler came from Stranger Things' universe into the Entity's realm, well, her investigative nature led her to Hawkins National Laboratory, and it all went downhill from there. Here is what you need to know about Nancy's Unique Perks, and some build ideas if you choose to play her.

Nancy Wheeler's Unique Perks

With Nancy Wheeler's Unique Perks, you can be very self-sufficient, while not entirely leaving your team in the dust. She also has one of the strongest perks in the game, Inner Strength.

Here are Nancy's three Unique Perks:

Better Together

You seek justice and uncover the truth no matter what obstacle stands in your way.

  • When repairing a generator, its aura is revealed in yellow to other Survivors within 32 meters.
  • If the Killer downs a Survivor while you are repairing a generator, you see the auras of all other survivors for a few seconds.

Fixated

When you have a goal in mind, there is no turning back; better to ask forgiveness than permission.

  • Increases your walking speed.
  • Unlocks the ability to see your own scratch marks.

Inner Strength

You look inwards and trust your instincts when you feel lost and alone.

Each time you cleanse a Totem, Inner Strength activates:

This perk does not activate if you currently have the Broken status effect.

Best Builds For Nancy Wheeler

There are hundreds of potential perk combinations in Dead by Daylight to fit any kind of playstyle. You can unlock new perks for Nancy when you progress through the Bloodweb, prestige other Survivors, or if you unlock them through the weekly Shrine of Secrets.

To unlock the Adept Nancy achievement, you will need to escape a Trial using only Nancy's three Unique Perks.

There are plenty of viable perk builds in Dead by Daylight, but these are some that you should always consider adding to your load-out:

  • Déjà Vu: Highlights three generators on your map, and your repair speed on those generators is increased.
  • Lithe: An Exhaustion perk that lets you break into a sprint after a fast vault.
  • Made For This: Helps you run faster when you are injured.
  • Urban Evasion: Your crouching movement speed is increased.

Nancy's perks are useful and can be used throughout an entire Trial. Regardless of which ones you might want to add to your load-out for her, there are additional perks you can combo each of Nancy's perks with to make them even stronger.

Better Together Perk Synergies

Better Together helps give your team additional information, and will potentially influence another teammate to come join you in order to repair a generator faster.

The secondary benefit that reveals all Survivors auras to you when someone is downed can help you understand who might be close to that Survivor. If you are the closest, then you might want to pause your repairs to go for the hook save.

Here are some perks that you can run with Better Together:

Flashbang

  • After repairing a generator to a certain percentage, Flashbang allows you to enter a locker and craft a Flash Grenade. Dropping this grenade will cause a large audio and visual blind for the Killer (and any Survivor) looking in its direction.
  • Since Better Together works only when you are repairing a generator, using Flashbang is a way to benefit after you are done with repairing.

Fogwise

  • Successfully hitting a Great skill check while repairing a generator will reveal the Killer's aura to you for a few seconds.
  • Keep tabs on the location of the Killer by using Fogwise, since you'll be repairing generators anyway.

Fixated Perk Synergies

Icon for Nancy Wheeler's Fixated perk.

Fixated lets you see your own scratch marks, which you can use to let you know what the Killer will see, too. You can use Fixated to try and trick a Killer by running in a certain direction to leave scratch marks, then walking faster in the opposite direction without leaving scratch marks.

Here are perks that pair well with Fixated:

Spine Chill

  • When the Killer is in range and looks in your direction, Spine Chill activates to give you a slight buff to your speed when repairing, healing, sabotaging, unhooking, cleansing, blessing, opening, and unlocking.
  • The Spine Chill perk icon on your HUD will light up when its active, telling you when the Killer is about to descend on you. Rather than running and leaving scratch marks, walk away faster using Fixated.
    • This makes it harder for the Killer to figure out which direction you went.

Urban Evasion

  • This perk increases your crouching movement speed.
  • If you're interested in a speed-focused build, and you want to travel around the map faster, pair Fixated with Urban Evasion. Mixed usage of this combo during a chase can potentially help you outsmart the Killer, and escape the chase.

Inner Strength Perk Synergies

Icon for Nancy Wheeler's Inner Strength perk.

Inner Strength is potentially one of the strongest Survivor perks in the game. It is great for being self-sufficient, allowing you to keep yourself healed without relying on teammates or an item.

Plus, Inner Strength works as a strong counter to any Hex totem. Hex perks are some of the strongest perks Killers can use, so getting rid of the totems around a map will benefit your entire team.

Give your teammates a heads-up if you run Inner Strength. Do this in case any other Survivor has a Boon perk in their load-out, or so they at least know you will need to be the one to cleanse totems.

Here are a few perks that synergize well with Inner Strength:

Detective's Hunch

  • When a generator is completed, the auras of generators, chests, and totems within range are revealed to you. The map item will also track whatever is revealed by this perk.
  • Occasionally, finding a totem can be difficult. This perk has good general use, and will help you easily find a totem to cleanse so you can keep Inner Strength ready.

Resilience

  • While you are injured, you receive a slight buff to your speed while repairing, healing, sabotaging hooks, unhooking, vaulting, cleansing, blessing, opening chests, and unlocking exit gates.
  • Resilience is a great way to make up for the inevitable moment when you get injured by the Killer. Since being injured increases the speed of so many interactions, here is a great strategy to use:
    • Make sure to have Inner Strength ready. The next time you get injured and escape, don't immediately use Inner Strength.
    • Utilize Resilience to help with various tasks, such as repairing generators, so you can escape.
    • When it's no longer viable to stay injured, go hide in a locker to heal yourself up. Rinse and repeat!

Overzealous

  • After cleansing or blessing a totem, your repair speed increases. Plus, if the totem was hexed, the repair speed increase is greater.
  • Since you'll be cleansing totems to use Inner Strength anyway, Overzealous is another way to get additional buffs out of it. Be careful though, as you lose the buffs you get from Overzealous if you get injured.

You definitely do not want to run any Boon perks yourself when you run Inner Strength, since Boon perks rely on totems staying on the map. It would be counterproductive to run these together.
